Jack Jensen passed suddenly on Nov. 26, 2018. He was born in Portland, but lived most of his life in the Gray, New Gloucester area. Jack graduated in 1963, as part of the first class of GNG High School.
Jack worked at both the American Can Co. and Crosby Laughlin until health issues prevented him from working full time.
Jack is survived by his wife of 53 years, Amy Snow Jensen and 2 sons, Andrew (Amy Anderson) and Alan (Marytracey) Jensen, all from New Gloucester. He leaves 2 brothers, Gary and Warren Jensen, both of Gray. Also, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling, golf, fishing, and pool. Always competitive, he loved cards, board games, and anything where he could win the $10,000 and the “infamous” Jensen Cup.
Later in life, he enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren, teaching them board games, reading to them, and riding them around on his John Deere.
There will be a gathering for family and friends at Jess ‘n Nic’s on Rte 100 in Gray on Dec. 2, from noon to 3:00 to share memories of Jack.
