Richard Taylor Walls

July 12, 1940 ~ April 15, 2018 (age 77) 77 Years Old

Richard Taylor Walls, 77 went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning April 15, 2018. He was born in Saco, Maine on July 12, 1940 to Lawrence Willy Walls and Harriet Twomey Walls.

He graduated in 1959 from Thornton Academy in Saco.  In 1961 he married Priscilla Bourassa.  Children:  Alison Lehouillier, Leslie Hodgkins, and Shawn Walls.

Richard served in the United States Air Force as an Air Policeman from September 14, 1961 to discharged September 13, 1965. Stationed Goose Bay Labrador, McDill Airforce Base, Fla., Plattsburg, NY

 He retired from Chrysler Credit Corporation in 1996 where he’d spent 26 years as credit manager. Richard highly recommends retirement and enjoyed his immensely. 

In March of 1977 he married Shirley Davis.   Stepchildren Robert Davis and Vickie Davis.

During his marriage to Shirley they gave their lives to the Lord.  They were involved with Windham Assembly of God   Dick served on church finance committee and building committee. He was the pledge director for fundraising for Windham Christian Academy and raised half a million dollars. Started a WCA basketball program and coached it for several years.

In February 2007 he married Susan Copp.  He was also blessed with a stepdaughter Rachael whom he loved very much.

Tuesdays he had breakfast with the boys, Stretch and Chuck at Cole Farms.

In 2006 he ran for Gray Town Council. 

Hobbies: Collected 1:18 Diecast cars, wood carving, wood working, sports –Red Sox, Boston Bruins, Patriots, and when they weren’t on, he’d watch whoever was playing. Played broomball with his brother Gardy for Biddeford Maine Hardware and the Eagles Club

Known for his organization. Family photographer and archivist. Drag raced with the Walls Bros. 1970-1971

In the last few years he stopped giving traditional Christmas gifts and opted to give money to people in the community.

Dick hosted a Walls family reunion in June of 2017. 

Survived by brothers: Dana Walls wife Donna and Gardner Walls and wife Marilyn

He is pre-deceased by his parents and wife, Shirley and his faithful friend, Rose the dog.

He is a member of Victory Christian Tabernacle.

He is survived by his wife, Susan, his children, daughter Alison Lehouillier husband Guy, Leslie Hodgkins, and Shawn Walls wife Kimberly. 5 grandchildren. 

His family would like to thank Dr Stephen Martin, Dr Joseph Wight and Jean Cass APRN-FNP.

We will celebrate Dick’s life on Sunday, April 29th.  Gathering at 2:00 for a 2:30 service followed by refreshments and a collection of Dick’s photo’s.
