Died peacefully Dec 11Th 2018 at Maine Medical Center. She was born to Ralph and Evelyn Sweetsir June 26Th 1934. Violet was a retired hairdresser, which she enjoyed for 20 years. Her favorite thing to do was spending time with her family and friends. She loved family gatherings, the ocean, cooking and gardening. In her younger years she adored traveling as much as she could. She will be sorely missed by all that knew her.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Fred Newcomb of 32 years. She is survived by her brother Philip Sweetsir of Windham, her children William Darling Jr and his wife Katherine of Raymond, Linda Ferraro of Sarasota, FL, Joanne Intrieri and her husband Richard of Windham, Julie Wright and her husband Stephen of Windham, Robert Darling of Sarasota, FL, Penny Hachey and her husband Edward of Windham and Fred Newcomb of Windham. Also she leaves behind 9 grandchildren, Craig Tilton, Leanne Tilton, Michael Wright , Samantha Harrison, Matthew Wright, Sabrina Hachey, Olivia Wright, Justin Hachey and Tanner Hachey, and 8 great grandchildren. Service will be held at Wilson Funeral Home in Gray, from 1:00-2:30pm followed by a Memorial Serice on Dec.16,
