It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Curtis on October 15, 2024 peacefully with family and loved ones by her side.

Anna was born in Dittelsheim, Germany who came to the United States at age 16 and married her late husband, Walter Edmund Curtis. They had four children, Glen (Lynn) Curtis, Richard (Laurie) Curtis, Lita (Michael) Brown and Leni (Steven) Grant. Anna was blessed with six grandchildren, Heath (Brittany) Curtis, Todd (Hilary) Curtis, Nicholas (Ashlee) Falco, Makalla (Matthew) Falco, Alena (Gertian) Xhafa and Leandra Grant. Great grandchildren, Celia Falco, Maggie Falco, Ziona Falco, Nevaeh O’Connell, Abel Curtis, Gwendalyn Curtis, Genevieve Curtis, Edward Xhafa, Elliana Xhafa, Evander Xhafa and Millie May Grant.

Anna spent her last 24 years with her loving partner Stephen King in Gray, Maine. They shared many beautiful memories together including traveling, dining out to their favorite restaurants and spending quality time together.

Anna Curtis was a friend to all who will be missed for her many interests and community service which she was so passionate about. She enjoyed tending to her gardens, raising and riding horses, cooking and baking the most delicious dishes in addition to crafting and attending craft fairs. As an active member of the community, giving back to people in need was a passion of hers as she was known to deliver Meals on Wheels and was the friendly woman in the snack shack at the Wildlife park. Most importantly, Anna valued her relationships with her family and friends and the love and memories shared with all.

The family would like to thank all those who helped to make her journey comfortable and peaceful in her last several months. Thank you to Brentwood Rehab, Whitney, Nina, Jenn, Stacey and many more.  In addition, Michelle at Hospice who became Moms good friends.

To know Anna was to love her. She could make friends anywhere and everywhere caring about people and their lives. God has gained a beautiful Angel where Anna’s work will continue.

Anna’s funeral at 11:00am will be graveside at the Moss Side Cemetery Monday October 21,  on Main Street in Cumberland, Maine. We will celebrate her Life at one of her favorite restaurant’s, Lotus Restaurant in Auburn, Maine at 2:00pm where good food and wonderful stories will be shared.
