Audrey Doggett Obituary

Buxton - Audrey Alice Doggett

Born on June 21, 1938 to the parents of George and Gertrude Taylor and William Nickerson, Audrey went to be with the Lord peacefully surrounded by her loving family at home on April 27, 2023.

Audrey grew up in Gorham/Portland and later went to work as a bookkeeper for Pineland. In addition, she worked various jobs such as a hostess at Cole Farms and a switchboard operator. She took great pride in her work and later went on to be an advocate for various military organizations. Audrey was a proud volunteer for the organizations that supported our troops during Desert Storm. She spent countless hours working on bows and signs. She was also a member of the American Legion.

Audrey’s greatest loves were her family. She was a daughter, wife, sister, mom, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. She was in her element while hosting family gatherings and entertaining her extended family at her farmhouse. Audrey loved nothing more than to feed and spoil her grandkids. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for them. Mom/Gram/Great Grammy was not only our light, but fiercest advocate and protector. She deeply touched our hearts and will forever leave an imprint.

Audrey is predeceased by her husband David Doggett of Lewiston, as well as four siblings and a son Edward Gramlich. She leaves behind many family members including her children Terri Morris, Steven Berry and partner Melissa Brochu, Theodore Berry and wife Amelia Berry, Brian Berry and partner Beth Sellick and Sheryl Smith. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren as well several great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held at Wilson Funeral in Gray, Friday May 5th from 12-1:30pm, followed by a service. A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion in Gray from 3-5pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local animal shelter or SPCA. Audrey always loved her animals!
