NEW GLOUCESTER - It is with heavy hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Brian Theodore Minott, age 61, on July 23, 2023.
Brian was born on February 1, 1962 to Theordore and Barbara Minott in Boston, Massachusetts. The family moved to Windham, Maine during Brian’s childhood. Brian served three years in the United States Army and was honorably discharged as a Specialist. Immediately following his time in service, Brian worked in skilled labor before attending Southern Maine Community College, where he completed his Cardiovascular Technology degree with high honors. Brian continued his professional growth during his employment in the cardiology division at Abbott Medical, where he became credentialed as an Electrophysiology Technician.
Brian was a devoted husband, father, friend, and an avid adventurer. He thoroughly enjoyed spending his free time caring for his horses, boating, skiing, attending concerts, spending time with friends and family, and traveling. He lived life with exuberance, had a spirit for fun, and a deep appreciation for the people and the world around him. Though his physical presence may be gone, the spirit of Brian continues to live on in the memories he created and the love he shared. Let us remember him with a smile, cherishing the laughter, the adventures, and the moments that were made brighter because of him.
Brian was the beloved husband of Sandy Snow; son of Barbara Minott; father of Christine Cook and her husband Matthew Cook; grandfather of Madison and Owen Cook; stepfather of Brandon and Connor Morrill, and Paige Garcia. He was the loving brother of: Dale; Sandy and her husband Chuck; Cyndi and her husband Earl; Sheila and her husband Mike; and Eddie. Brian was predeceased by his father, Theodore Minott.
A memorial visitation will be held at Wilson Funeral Home, 24 Shaker Road, Gray, Maine 04039 on Sunday, 7/30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a celebration of life at Brian and Sandy’s home located at 160 Wharff Rd, New Gloucester, ME 04260. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland.
