Colleen A. (Taylor) Willard Reardon, 79
Colleen A. (Taylor) Willard Reardon, 79, of New Gloucester passed away peacefully on
Aug. 6, 2025.
Colleen was born in Lewiston on Dec. 20, 1945 to Muriel (Minnehan) Taylor and
Kenneth R. Taylor. A graduate of South Portland High School, Colleen married Paul D.
Willard in 1966 and they had three daughters. Following Paul’s death in 1985, Colleen
then married Patrick Reardon in 1989. They proudly designed and built their home in
New Gloucester, where they focused on blending their families. Family was the theme
of her life.
Colleen was a woman of great personal strength and determination, and of many
interests and talents. Following the early deaths of her parents when she was a young
woman, Colleen stepped in to guide her five younger siblings, serving at various times
as anchor, advisor, guardian, supporter and always-loving sister; her influence was
immense.
She was a lover of the outdoors; a masterful gardener who created beautiful spaces at
their home; an incredible cook with a repertoire that ran from gourmet to comfort dinners
and desserts, who took great pleasure in feeding those she loved; and a skilled painter,
seamstress, knitter, and craftsperson.
She and Pat turned their home into a winter wonderland each Christmas, delighting
their grandchildren. They shared countless trips to the Allagash, where Pat was a Maine
State Ranger, canoeing, boating, fishing and exploring. They also took two memorable
trips to Newfoundland where they experienced wilderness camping, canoeing, and
fishing. A cross-country drive, seeing various sites, was another highlight.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Pat Reardon; her daughters Christine
Willard and partner Christian Schwarzkopf of Midlothian, Va., Cathleen Willard Nadeau
and Jackson Nadeau of Auburn, Caroline Willard and husband Donald Clayton of
Auburn, and Badieh Reardon Bryant and husband Richard Bryant of Duvall, Wash.;
grandchildren Chloe Nadeau, Olivia Nadeau, and Avery Oliver all of Auburn, and
Autumn and Violet Bryant, both of Duvall, Wash. She is also survived by siblings Gloria
Littlefield, Michael Taylor, Joseph Taylor, Judith Taylor, and Jeffrey Taylor; sister- and
brother-in-law Jan and Art Sloan; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Colleen
was predeceased by her brother Kenneth F. Taylor.
A celebration of Colleen’s life will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025 at
Davinci’s Restaurant, 150 Mill St., Lewiston. A private family burial will be held at a later
date.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the caring and skilled staff at Central Maine
Medical Center who made her final days comfortable and were supportive and kind to
the family.
