Dana Weisner Obituary

Raymond - Dana L. Weisner, 64, passed away unexpectedly on May 20 th , 2025.
He was born in Lubec, ME to John Weisner and Betty (Beam) (Weisner) Hawkins on
August 29, 1960. He graduated from Washington Academy in 1979. While attending
Washington Academy, Dana was involved in the Organic Growers Club and the Art
club.
Dana was an open, outgoing, and friendly person. He loved the outdoors and collecting
rocks. He was constantly in the middle of a project, be it constructing a building,
working with his tractor, or just generally tinkering around – like his father, his jack-of-all
trades talents would leave some projects lacking the finishing touches because
something else had captured his interest and he’d done the hard part. Dana was
always looking to do or learn something new. He looked forward to his annual visits to
his sister’s camp in Princeton where all the family would gather. He grew up in Cutler
and made it back there as often as he could to catch up with his childhood friends. True
to his Cutler upbringing, he never met a seafood that he didn’t like.
Dana worked for the Maine Department of Transportation for 35 years in many
departments such as Survey, Materials and Testing (out of Freeport), and Bridge. After
he retired from the DOT, he went to work for Tylin as a consultant. During his time in
materials and testing, he traveled all around the state meeting people who became
lifelong friends.
He was a Master Mason and a member of Cumberland Lodge #12 in New Gloucester.
Dana was predeceased by his parents and step-father, Alvah Hawkins. He is Survived
by his two Sons Benjamin (Cassidy) Weisner of Auburn and Garrett Weisner of
Raymond; a grandson Gabriel Weisner who he loved immensely; the mother of his
children Candice Weisner of Lisbon; and his three sisters - Jocelyn (Stephen) Bailey of
North Mankato, MN; Jacquelyn (Robert) Hood of Princeton, ME; and Melissa Weisner of
Schofield, WI. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life and Masonic Service will be held on June 28 th at 2:00pm at
Cumberland Lodge Masonic Hall in New Gloucester.
A service and burial in Cutler will be held at a later date.
