David W. DiTomaso, Sr.

 

Gray, ME. – David W. DiTomaso, Sr. 83, passed from this life in Gray, Maine on December 3, 2021 at home surrounded by loving family. 

David was born January 15, 1938, in Lynn, MA the son of Raymond DiTomaso and Sally (Wood) DiTomaso.

David graduated from Holten High School Danvers MA, Class of 1954. Following graduation, he served with the U.S. Air Force at Soderstrum Air Base in Greenland during Korea.  David also studied at the University of Maine.

David married Frances E. Wentworth and they settled in Middleton, MA from 1955 until moving to Cape Elizabeth Maine in 1972 and then to Gray, Maine in 1986. Dave and Fran celebrated 65 years of marriage this past September.

David’s professional life was in the field of Law Enforcement including Sargent of the Middleton Police Department in Middleton MA. And Chief of Police in Cape Elizabeth Maine. David also worked for DHS as a Support Enforcement Officer, and for the State of Maine as a Fraud Investigator from which he retired. After retirement David chose to work part-time as a transportation driver for Avis Car Rentals. He always said this was his fun job.

Surviving in addition to his wife Frances (Wentworth) DiTomaso are his Sons David W. DiTomaso, Jr. and his wife Jean (Moody) DiTomaso of Estero, FL., Paul R DiTomaso of Gray, ME., William J. DiTomaso and his wife Michelle Curneil of Windham, ME and Eric L. DiTomaso of Gray, ME. Dave has 10 Grandchildren, Kelly Arsenault, Jonathan DiTomaso, Sarah Sawyer, Sheena Corbin, Shelly Vosmus, Nichole Clark, and Chelsey Brookes, Sam Thompson, Eric Thompson, and Alison Mortensen. Dave has 16 Great-Grandchildren, Maryssa Meserve, Daytona Parker Carley Aresenault, Ivory Rose DiTomaso, Lily Sawyer, Cadiance Corbin, Miranda Corbin, Willow Corbin, Wyatt Corbin, Cory DiTomaso, Ethan Vosmus, Shane Clarke, Kylie Clark, Christopher Clark, Teddy Brooks and Ben Brooks.

Along with 3 Great-Great Grandchildren Wilbur Parker, Wyatt Parker, and Zoey Meserve. Also surviving is Brother John DiTomaso of San Diego, CA. and Brother Douglas Madigan and his wife Laurie Madigan of Loxahatchee, FL.

A celebration of life will be held in the late spring or Early Summer date and location to be determined.
