David Paul Seeley, 5/6/1961 - 12/26/2024
David passed away peacefully after a long illness at Concord Hospital in New
Hampshire. David was the youngest child of Morgan James Seeley Jr. and Rita
(Courbron) Trask. He graduated from Gray New-Gloucester High School in 1979.
David met his wife, Carrie Tripp, in high school. They were married right after high
school. In their early years of marriage, David and Carrie enjoyed visiting with Carrie’s
family, sitting around the pool or at their camp in Greenville, Maine. After a few years of
marriage, they welcomed their baby girl, Amanda, followed by a son, Chad. The
children brought him much pride and joy.
David was a long haul truck driver for many years and also worked for the State of
Maine Department of Transportation driving truck and operating equipment. He taught
equipment operations for the DOT and also drove truck for Yarmouth Lumber. His skills
in mechanics and operating equipment were gleaned from the many hours he spent in
the garage with his step-father, Everett Trask.
David enjoyed riding motorcycles, particularly his BMW. He loved bass fishing and ice
fishing. Dave and Mel visited many State Parks enjoying walks on the trails and
beaches. He was a kind hearted soul who was an inspiration to many in his circle of
friends.
David was affectionately known as “Uncle Strawberry” to his nieces and nephews.
David was predeceased by his father, Morgan, mother, Rita, step-father, Everett, step-
siblings, Gayle Trask and Cindy Trask Davidson.
David is survived by his loving partner, Melody Walton, his children, Amanda (James)
Murray and Chad Seeley, his siblings, Michael (Debra) Seeley, and Susan (Herbert)
Blake, his step-siblings, Sharon (David) Young, and David (DeAnna) Trask, grandson,
Rhys Murray, and many nieces & nephews.
Dave’s family would offer gratitude for the professional and affectionate care he
received by his care team at Maine Medical Center ICU.
Graveside services will be held in the spring
