Dennis John Riley
“Squirrel”
Dennis J. Riley, late of Freeport, Maine went home to be with his Lord on Sunday,
September 8, 2024 after and long illness. He was born March 7, 1956 in East Orange,
New Jersey to William H. and Rita Y. (Little) Riley. He married Charice L (Frank)
Oliver on October 3, 2015.
Dennis is predeceased by his mother, Rita in 1974, his father William in 2011and
his beloved granddaughter, Gracie – Belle Regina Leclair in 2015 (and until his illness
made him bedridden he lovingly tended her grave, making sure she had flowers year
round)
Dennis was a hardworking man, he enjoyed his barbeques and always invited
everyone to come, he was a friend you could always depend to be there at any time, he
loved tending our gardens and took great pride in them. Dennis was a gentle caring man
and loved to laugh was loved deeply by his friends and family.
Dennis is survived by; his wife, Charice, of Freeport, his children: a son,
Christopher Murray and his wife, Amy of Conway, NH, a daughter, Jennifer Murray of
Florida, a son, Matthew Murray of Conway, NH, a daughter Sarah Bishop and her
husband, Brian of Connecticut and a daughter, Lisa Allen of Bartlett, NH
He is also survived his step-children: a son Keith Oliver and his wife, Bethany of
Brunswick, a son Michael Soule Jr of Freeport, a daughter Mary Soule-Haynes and her
husband, Chris of Naples, a son, Todd Oliver and his wife, Tanya, a son, Derah Soule and
his wife Nancy of Bowdoinham, a son David Soule and his wife, Lorri of Freeport, a
daughter, Eryn Soule-Leclair and her husband, Marcel of Lewiston,
Dennis is also survived by his brother, Mark Riley of N.H. and a sister Anne
Vendt of South Dakota. He also leaves behind several grandchildren and great-
grandchildren.
There will be a Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life at The North
Pownal United Methodist Church, 851 Lawrence Road, Pownal, Maine 04069. The
service will be at 2 pm on Thursday, September 26, 2024 with refreshments to follow at
the church.
