Dennis James Seeley age 69, formerly of Hartland VT, passed away peacefully at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME on June 3, 2021.
Dennis was born in Melrose, MA on October 3, 1951 to parents, William and Virginia (Cammon) Seeley of Wakefield, MA
As a 1970 graduate of Melrose High School, Dennis went into the Air Force were he served as a Jet Engine Mechanic from 1970 to 1974.
After serving in the Air Force, he explored multiple jobs from a bank security guard, tax preparation representative or a software technician at Dartmouth College, where he spent 26 years. Dennis eventually retired from the United States Postal Service in 2010.
In 1983, Dennis married Jean Arensbach. Together they built a beautiful home and life together in Hartland VT.
When Dennis wasn’t fixing computers at Dartmouth, he loved to help out his older brother build his log cabin house in Otisfield, ME. He helped coach his son’s basketball team throughout the years until high school where then, he was happy to finally just watch his son play. Dennis was a family man and put his wife and two sons first. He could strike up a conversation with anyone in the room and was always ready with a joke. (was a very social butterfly). Later in life, he made the move to Maine to be closer to his son, daughter-in-law, his granddog and two grand cats that he loved more than anything.
Dennis is predeceased by his mother ( Virginia) and father ( William). His brother, Ralph Tanner, and his wife Jean Seeley.
Dennis is survived by his sons Cody Seeley of Westminster VT, Brian Seeley and wife, Nikki, of Gray ME. He leaves behind many family members and friends that he loved to spend his retired time with and make memories over the years.
There will be a grave-side service at Puritan Lawns in Peabody, MA on June 26th at 11:00a. In lieu of flowers, Dennis would have appreciated donations being made in his honor to the Maine Veterans Home, Scarborough ME.
