Donald Fletcher Obituary

Donald L. Fletcher, 83 passed away Sunday February 15th.  Born January 17th, 1943 the son of Harold & Phyllis Fletcher of Danville, Maine.  Don graduated from Edward Little High School in 1961 where he was a star pitcher and avid baseball player throughout his youth.

He furthered his education in Accounting and Business Administration at Auburn Maine School of Commerce in 1967 before joining the National Guard where he served his country.

Don settled down in Danville where he had two children, Kimberly in 1968 and Kevin in 1974 with his first wife Lynn Moore.

Don married Cynthia Fletcher September 4th, 1986 in Gray, Maine where he gained two more sons Brad Baker and Tim Baker and spent the next 40 years married to best friend.

Don loved his family, especially his grandchildren Jade, Zachary, Jack, Jamison, William, Matthew, Lauren, and Leah.  He had 1 brother, Larry and 2 sisters, Janice Soucy and Alice Boutilier.  He had 3 brother in laws and their wives, 2 sisters in laws and their husbands, 30 nieces and nephews in his large extended family and Don cared for and loved all of them.

Don enjoyed many things in life. He loved gardening and working with plants and was meticulous about the plants in his yard. He also enjoyed buying houses and fixing them up where he definitely preferred to work for himself. In his later years, he enjoyed going to auctions and yard sales with Cindy, collecting record albums and sports cards. He also really enjoyed feeding the birds and the chipmunks in his yard.  Don enjoyed traveling to both Las Vegas and Aruba and enjoyed his time in any casino.  He was also a lifelong Red Sox and Patriots fan.

Don had a great sense of humor and could always make people smile and laugh. He was caring and loving and always liked to call himself “flexible”. Don was admired and loved by so many.
