Gray- Donald L. Morse, 95, died peacefully surrounded by his family October 25, 2022.
Born in Bath September 19, 1927 the son of James Lester and Winifred Gertrude Blaisdell Morse. Mr. Morse graduated from Morse High School, Chicago Technical College and received his Masters in Education from Boston University.
Mr. Morse started his career as a draftsman then became a teacher. Donald taught a total of 40 years – 32 in the Portland School System and 8 in MSAD 15 as a substitute teacher after retiring. He served in the U.S. Army after High School. Donald was an avid reader and studied the Bible extensively, and wrote two books based on his research. In his younger years he loved camping and hiking. Don was the happiest when he was with his family.
He is survived by his wife Ann, who he married in 1962. Six children: David ( Brigitte), Mark, Michael (Heidi), Stephen (Cindy), Jonathan, and Elizabeth(Frank Morgan); and 16 grandchildren and their spouses. He was proud of each one of them and loved each one dearly.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to your favorite charity. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 24 Shaker Road, Gray Tuesday November 1, 2022. A funeral will follow at 2p.m. A graveside committal prayer will follow at Gray Cemetery.
