Elaine LaBrie

Elaine LaBrie, 74, passed away on October 28, 2023 peacefully at home with her family by her side.

Elaine was born on October 21, 1949 to Eugene and Mary Goodine (Colley) in Bangor, Maine.  After graduating from Houlton High School in 1967, she went on to study cosmetology in Bangor. In 1971 while living at the YMCA in Portland, Elaine met Patrick LaBrie.  They were married on May 20,1972.  In 1976 they built their home in Gray and raised two daughters.

Elaine worked as a hairdresser for years, first working in Portland at Frank’s Salon and then went on to be a traveling in-home hairdresser catering to the elderly in the Gray-New Gloucester area.  Elaine ultimately gave up hairdressing and went on to work at Cole Farms where she eventually retired. In her free time she enjoyed writing and publishing poetry and spending time with her grands. 

Elaine was predeceased by her parents.  She is survived by her husband Patrick of Poland, daughters Desiree (Sean) Kelly of Falmouth and Danielle (David) Sarratori of Waterloo, New York, three grandsons, Benjamin, Henry and Cooper, and a sister Nancy (Gary) Dewitt of Gilbert, Arizona.
