Frank L. Brown

Frank L. Brown passed away at his home in Poland on Friday March 28, 2025 at the age of 78. He attended Windham High School and joined the Navy at the age of 17. Frank worked multiple jobs in his life, but the ones he enjoyed the most were outside, lumber mills and tree work. He worked for Lucas Tree, Skilling's Greenhouse, and O'Donnell's Nursery, and Red Mill. 

In Maine Tree work was just removing the tree or the dead limbs. Tree work requirements were different when Frank and his wife moved to California. The job was to "artistically shape the trees" and pruning to "let the light shine through." The City of Beverly Hills said they only hired Frank because he climbed "fearlessly". Most of the workers preferred to stay on the ground. Missing family later brought them back to live in Maine. Frank could most always be found outside, in his vegetable garden or cutting and splitting firewood for the Winter. He has been babying a couple of apple trees and a peach tree he planted in Poland, that will surely produce their best crop ever now for his Grandchildren.

Frank is survived by his wife Marcella Brown and daughter Rebekah Trask of Poland, his son and daughter in law Jesse and April Brown of Tenn. Brothers Richard Bridges and wife Carol of Windham, Michael Bridges of Windham, Steven Smith of New Gloucester, Robert Smith of Scarborough, Richard Shepard and wife Nicole of Sanford. Sisters in Law Toody MacDonald of Gray, Shannon and husband Alan of Machias. Grandchildren Rachel, David, Deborah, Lauren, and John of Tenn. Jeremy, and Zachery of Poland. Great grandchildren Thomas of Maine and Evelyn of Tenn. He was predeceased by his parents Everett and Eva Bridges, and brothers David Vining and Clifford Schools.
