Gerald "Frenchy" Willette

 

Gerald Joseph Willette, 78, of Gray, ME passed away peacefully at the Maine Veterans Home in Augusta on April 23, 2021.

 

He was born in Portland, ME on August 12, 1942 the son of Ralph and Doris (Baker) Willette. 

 

After serving for the US Navy from 1961 to 1965, he held a career in commercial construction, residential carpentry and cabinetry work until his retirement.

 

On September 18, 1982, Jerry married the love of his life Laurel Willette. Together they built a wonderful life spent adventuring and enjoying the beautiful home he built on Little Sebago Lake in Gray.

 

Gerald was known by many people as "Frenchy" or Jerry who enjoyed reading, dancing, boating, camping and sporting events. He was a loving Grandfather who shared beautiful moments with his two grandchild whom he adored and cherished with all of his heart. Jerry made friends wherever he went. He will always be remembered for his bright smile, big heart and for being full of laughter and happiness. 

 

Jerry was predeceased by his mother and father; brothers Kenny and Ralph Jr along with his loving wife Laurel Willette.

 

Jerry is survived by his son Nathan Willette and daughter in law Kayla from Gray; his grandchildren Myles and Madilynn Willette; he also leaves behind special friends and family he enjoyed spending time and making memories with over the years.

 

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff and doctors at the Maine Veterans Home in Augusta as well as Maine General Hospital for their kindness and care. 

 

A celebration of life will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home in Gray, ME on Thursday May 13, 2021 from 4-7pm. 

 

Family will be holding a private funeral.
