James Graham

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of James Graham, age 82, on August 21, 2023. James was born on October 24, 1940 to James and Charlotte Graham in Dunaskin, Ayrshire Scotland. Following seven years in the British merchant marines, he moved to Portland, Maine in 1967. He married his loving wife, Mary (Orr) Graham in 1968 in Dalmellington, Ayrshire Scotland and the couple moved to South Portland Maine thereafter. After the birth of their two daughters, Anne and Charlene, the family moved to Gorham, Maine where they lived for 21 years. James retired early and spent 27 happy years splitting their time between Clearwater, Florida and their beautiful lake home in Gray, Maine. James was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Friend and Golfer. He loved adventures through the woods, boating, golfing, fishing and being an outstanding handyman. He lived a life of adventure always with a glint in his eye and a dry sense of humor. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, the spirit of James continues to live on in the memories he created, the values he instilled and the love he shared. Let us remember him with a smile, holding his laugh in our heart, continuing in the adventurous spirit of his youth to make our days brighter because of him. James was the devoted husband of Mary, loving father to Anne Graham, and Charlene Graham Welsh and her husband Aaron Welsh, doting grandfather to Graham and Mara Welsh. He is predeceased by his parents James and Charlotte Graham as well as his 7 older sisters.
