Jay McLean
Jay McLean, “Jaybird”, passed away in the early morning hours of July 19th. He passed at home surrounded by his loved ones following an intimate celebration of his 20th wedding anniversary with his adoring wife, Cindy.
Son of Harry and Louise McLean, Jay leaves behind his his sister Paige DeSaint, her husband Tony, his two children Casey & Dan McLean, his step daughter Sadie Rioux, husband Shawn, and niece Aubrey.
Jay lives on through the greatest joy of his life, his grandchildren: Harry & Thomas McLean, Finnegan Keating, Jalyn, Gage and Max Rioux
The love for sports that Jay showed in his youth, only intensified with age. He was an unwaveringly dedicated fan of every New England sports team. His passion for the game lead him to coach not only his children, but the majority of Gray’s next generation of athletes. His love for coaching our youth, even brought him the love of his life, as thats where his wife, Cindy, first caught his eye.
But as much excitement as Jay got from his professional teams, nothing brought him more joy than watching his grandchildren carry on his love for the game. One of the greatest highlights of his life was watching his middle grandson, Gage, take the field to represent New England at the Little League World Series in 2023.
This kindhearted, supportive, exemplary man will be forever loved and missed by all who were blessed enough to know him.
It was Jay's wishes that there be no memorial service, and any desired contributions be made to the Jimmy Fund. https://danafarber.jimmyfund.org/site/Donation2?2764.donation=form1&df_id=2764&mfc_pref=T
