John Veader passed away on Saturday June 18, 2022 at the age of 74.
He was one of nine children born to Cyrena and Bernard Veader. John graduated from Marshfield H.S. in Massachusetts and the University of Southern Maine.
He worked for Inland Fisheries & Wildlife for 30 years and was manager of Dry Mills Fish Hatchery when he retired.
After retiring he volunteered at Central Maine Medical Center for a number of years.
John was active in the community umpiring Little League baseball games, coaching boy’s baseball and girl’s softball teams.
He was a member of the Gray Kiwanis Club. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol; daughter Michelle; and son; two sisters, Harriett Albert-Smith and Cynthia Corrow; and three brothers Peter, Donald, and Robert.
He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Stephen and sisters Cyrena Movitz and Victoria Lincoln. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A private graveside service will be held at Gray Village Cemetery.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held at Spring Meadows Golf and Country Club on Friday August 19th at 3pm.
