Judith Strout Obituary

Judith (Judi) Strout passed away on January 22, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born November 7, 1933 in Ellsworth, Maine, the daughter of Alburn and Louise (Smith) Butler. She graduated Pennell Institute in 1953 and was married to Edwin L. Strout on June 11, 1953.

While at Pennell Institute she was a cheerleader for basketball as well as a majorette and was selected by the American Legion to attend Girls State. She also performed in minstrel shows and plays. Judi was an expert seamstress for over 70 years and she made the costumes for many years for the Gray Follies. She also worked for Gray Oil.

Judi had made many dear friends over her lifetime. She was the matriarch of her family and the glue that held everything together.  Her greatest joy was her family.

She was predeceased by her husband Edwin L.; her Parents; Siblings Jeanne Carr and Edward Butler; Son-In-Law, Randy Mason; Daughter-In-Law, Alice Strout; and Nephew, Michael Carr.

She is survived by her four children; Jeffrey (Christine) Strout, Linda (Gerry) Gay, Tim (Doreen) Strout, and Julie Mason. 11 Grandchildren, 13 Great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; her Sister-In-Law Sylvia Pawlowski (who was more like a sister); and several nieces and nephews.
