Lorraine Ruth Thompson Jones

Lorraine Ruth Thompson Jones – 91 of Gray, Passed away on Monday, 07/13/2026 at
Maine Medical Center in Portland Maine surrounded by loving family.
She was born in Portland Maine on May 25, 1935 the daughter of Charlotte Jane Kerr
and Stanley Turner Thompson.
Lorraine was educated in the Windham school system.
In August 1955 Lorraine married Ralph Ridlon Sr with whom she had three children,
Ruth Elaine, Ralph Arnold, and Darryl Brett prior to divorcing in1960.
Lorraine married Edward Everett Jones on February 19, 1966, with whom she had a
daughter, Shelley Ann.
Lorraine worked at Casco Northern Bank, Portland, Maine, retiring in 1995. After
retirement from Casco Northern Bank she worked several part time jobs including the
Gray News and at Shaker Village New Gloucester, and Field of Friends Childcare fully
retiring in 2014.
Lorraine is Past Worthy Matron of Golden Sheaf Chapter Order of Eastern Star Chapter
#114 in New Gloucester and Advisory Board member for International Order of Rainbow
for Girls Windham Assembly #27.
Lorraine’s hobbies included genealogy, scrapbooking, making handmade cards for her
friends and family, jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with friends and family. She
enjoyed camping and hiking, sharing this love with Ed traveling all over the beautiful
states of Maine and New Hampshire.
In addition to her parents, Lorraine is predeceased by her husband of 59 years, siblings
Barbara Dyer, Stanley Thompson, her twin sister Eleanor Harmon, and brother
Benjamin Thompson and great grandson Bradley Murch. She is survived by her
children Ruth Hall of Parsonsfield ME, Ralph Ridlon & wife Dianna of Gray ME, Darryl
Ridlon & wife Bonita of Chesapeake VA, and Shelley Verrill of Bow NH. 13 Grand
Children: Sarah Murch, Rachel Lorraine, Robert Sanborn Jr, Matthew Sanborn, Caleb
Sanborn, Charlotte Ridlon, Jason Ridlon, Chelsey Lovino, Robert Mains, Brandon
Ridlon, Jenna Ridlon, Andrew Verrill, and Maura Verrill. She also had 18 great
grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Kezar Falls Cemetery on Thursday the 23 rd of July
2026 at 10:00 am. Reverend Daryl Lavway will officiate.
