Lucille “Lou” Theresa (Tanguay) Strout, 55, of Gray, passed away on November 17th,
2023, surrounded by her family and pugs, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Lou was
born on December 22, 1967 in Westbrook, the daughter of Henry and Rita Tanguay. Lou
graduated from Gray-New Gloucester High School in 1986, and went on to work in
administration at HMSHost for over thirty years. She married the love of her life, Philip Strout,
on July 9th, 1988. Together, they built their dream home in Gray, where they raised their two
sons, John and Jared.
Phil and Lou were always together, doing everything from rescuing pugs, building sheds,
and throwing memorable pool, card, and Halloween parties for their family and friends. In 2019,
Lou began working as a Rural Postal Carrier for the United States Postal Service in Casco. She
enjoyed being part of the community of Casco, speaking with her customers everyday, and
dedicating her time to volunteering at the annual Casco Days event.
Lou is survived by her son, Johnathan and his wife Catherine Strout of Raymond; and
son, Jared Strout of Gray; her pugs Nico, Toby, and Lelu; her mother, Rita (Daniels) Tanguay of
Gray; sister, Regina and her husband Ken LaMarche of Florida; sister, Simone and her husband
Steve Wright of Gray; brother, Matthew and his wife Tammy Tanguay of Gray; sister, Pamela
and her husband Tracy Stone of New Gloucester; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and
friends. Lou is predeceased by her loving husband, Phil, her father, Henry Tanguay, and sister,
Rebecca Aube.
A time to pay respects and offer condolences will be held on Saturday, December 2nd
from 1:00pm - 3:00pm at the Wilson Funeral Home, 24 Shaker Rd in Gray. In lieu of flowers,
