Maitland " Joe" Trafford Obituary

New Gloucester- Maitland D Trafford "Joe" passed away on February 19, 2022 at Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, Maine. Following a short illness.
He was born on May 21, 1932 in Poland, Maine. Son of Donald Trafford and Edith (McCleary) Trafford.
Joe graduated from Edward Little High School in 1951.
In 1954 he married Ruth Arlene Antone. Together they had 2 children Bruce and Karen.
In his earlier years he owned and operated Maitland D. Trafford and Son excavating. His passion was farming, especially haying. He raised Polled Herefords, later in life switching to pigs and turkeys. But he most enjoyed haying. He often mentioned how lousy the 2021 season was, and hoped 2022 would be better. He wasn't sure he'd make another season but he certainly planned on trying.
He is survived by his son Bruce and his fiance Heather Ray of New Gloucester. His daughter Karen Trafford and her partner Tom Thompson of New Gloucester. Grandchildren Kourtney Williams and her husband Daniel and Adam Trafford. Great granddaughter Aubree Williams.
Surviving sister Marcia Cavers of Poland, Me.
Joe was pre-deceased by Ex-wife Ruth Trafford. His parents and three sisters. Beatrice Bouffard, Lois Oberg and Faye Watson. Friend Charlene Teras
We would like to Thank CMMC for the care and compassion they showed our father.
