Martha Spaulding Obituary

Martha "Mimi" Kingsbury Spaulding passed away on November 7, 2023.

Born on April 22, 1945, in Newton, Massachusetts to David J Kingsbury and Roberta M Kingsbury, Mimi
was the eldest of 3 daughters. She moved to Falmouth, Maine with her family in 1958. She attended
Falmouth schools, graduating from Windham High School in 1964.

As a young mother she stayed home to raise her two daughters. Upon returning to the workforce, she
entered the real estate field, working in the offices of Mark Stimpson Real Estate. She ultimately found
her place at Maine Multiple Listing Service, which she loved and where she took great pride in her work.
She then left Maine Multiple to help her husband start his own accounting firm.

Mimi was passionate about her home and its surrounding gardens, which she meticulously maintained.
Her flower gardens were a true source of pride and enjoyment.

Mimi made her home a warm and inviting place to all her family and friends, hosting and creating
holidays and celebrations for many years. It’s where family loved to gather. She was full of spunk,
humor, tenacity, and at times, to her own detriment, stubbornness! She was always up for an adventure
whether it was a hike up Morse Mountain with her friend Betty, heading out to a Women's Survival
Retreat with her lifelong friend Joan, or riding the back roads of Eustis with her friend Diane!

She loved her children and adored her grandchildren. The love for her grandchildren was often evident
in the smile on her face. She had many lifelong friends who sustained her as her health began to fail in
her later years. She spent many evenings on the phone keeping in touch and connecting to family all
over the U.S. and Canada, as reported by each one of her many cousins.

Mimi is survived by her daughters Stephanie Rogers and her husband Chris, and Elizabeth Ray and her
husband Tony, all of New Gloucester, Maine; and her four grandchildren, Nick and Ben Rogers, and
Charlotte and Calvin Ray. She is also survived by her sister Peggy Kingsbury Peterson and her husband
Marty of Topsham, Maine, and stepchildren Jana Spaulding of Cumberland, Maine and Brian Spaulding
of Massachusetts. She was predeceased by her sister Caroline B. Libby.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday December 3, 2023, in the Vestry at the New Gloucester
Congregational Church. The celebration will begin with a visiting time at 2:00pm and a time of
remembrance to begin at 2:30pm. Family and friends are encouraged to share their thoughts or a
