Matthew Vincent Carrier passed away unexpectedly in Manchester, NH on April 20, 2021 at the age of
48. He was born on February 7, 1973 in Lowell Massachusetts. Matt is the son of Patricia Ciccolo and
John Carrier Sr. He grew up in Londonderry New Hampshire with his brother John and graduated from
Londonderry High School in 1991.
Matt was known for his big heart and generosity and strove to take care of everyone. In doing so, he was
a “giver” and passed most of his possessions on to others or those he thought less fortunate. Matthew
lived simply and did not require material possessions to be happy. His focus was outward not inward so
whether it was providing for his son or his friends and neighbors, he was constantly giving what he had to
others. One of his favorite activities was making sure his woodland “friends” didn’t go hungry, even
when it meant that he would. Matt was gentle, compassionate and had a lot of life experience. Matt
passed along much valued guidance to his son on so many important aspects of life’s do’s and don't s.
Matt had a special place in the hearts of many people and will be greatly missed. He was predeceased by
his son, Caleb, in June 2019, and his father, John Sr., in June 2018. He is survived by his mother Patricia
Ciccolo, his brother John 3 and wife Meghan, his nephew John 4 wife Julia and their daughter Amelia,
and half siblings Alison and Jason. Matt leaves behind an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and
countless friends. Matt had a special relationship with Caleb’s mother, Erika Mortensen, and her sons
Nico and Alex.
A celebration of life will be held on April 30th
2021 at Wilson Funeral Home, Gray, ME from 11-1pm.
