Richard Miller Obituary

Richard Charles Miller, Jr, an Engineer with Vislink Technologies, Inc., passed away after a courageous battle with Cancer on Monday afternoon, December 14, 2020. He was 62 years old. Rich was born in Malden. He was one of three children born to Richard and Margaret (Cardile) Miller. He grew up in Burlington and was a graduate of the Burlington High School. He married Debra (Sorensen) in June of 1986 and raised two beautiful children. He started working for M/A-Com after graduating high school. The division of this company would spin off many times throughout the 44 years to finally spin off to Vislink Technologies, Inc.

Rich was an avid hunter and fly fisherman and found great enjoyment in tying his own flies. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed hiking and spending time with family. He spent many summers growing up in Rangeley Maine and then with his family in Naples Maine, finally moving to Gray Maine in 2017. He would make yearly trips to Montana or Wyoming to Fly fish and faithfully spent the hunting season in Andover Maine with his hunting crew. He was a jack of all trades and could never sit down. He would always find a project to do whether it be fixing or maintaining something or building something new. He could never just sit and was always on the move. In those rare times he could relax, it was with a good history novel and a nice glass of red wine. Rich traveled the world for his career and always had a story. There were many amazing vacations with friends and family throughout the years, but his favorites were his trip to Alaska and his two vacations to Italy. He always talked about going back a third time.

Rich was the beloved husband of 34 years of Debra (Sorensen). Loving father of Jason and his wife Annelyse of Gray, ME and Richelle and her partner Devan Maher of Townsend, MA. Proud Papa of Henry Alan Miller. Brother of Therese Grover-Miller and her spouse Kathleen of Hampstead, NH and Michael of Manchester, NH. Rich was also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Rich will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held this coming summer at the family’s camp in Naples Maine.
