Obituary

September 22,1985 - January 24, 2023

The family of Shawn R. Liggetto of Portland is saddened to announce his unexpected passing on January 24th, 2023 at the age of 37 years old.

Shawn was the son of Glenda and Frederick Liggetto Jr. He attended Portland and Gray schools.

As a child Shawn loved his weekly outings to the Westbrook park and Don's Lunch with his best friend "Kayka." He enjoyed riding four wheelers, playing video games and of course going roller skating at Happy Wheels. He also loved to tag along with his "bubbie" Rick and brother Fred. He had an enthusiasm for foreign cars, books, music, and movies; spanning from My Girl (starring his look alike Macaulay Culkin) to Scarface, and let's not forget his unique sense of style.

Shawn was a kind man with a huge heart. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for anyone. He would always root for the underdog and support them in overcoming whatever obstacles they may be facing. He had a strong passion for computers and anything IT related. He got great enjoyment from educating people on the ins and outs of cryptocurrency and would strongly encourage everyone to invest, even if it was just a dollar or two. What brought him the greatest joy, however, was becoming a father. He loved his children most of all. Always striving to be the best father he could be.

Shawn will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Glenda Liggetto; his children, Holden, Hayden and Emilia; his brothers, Richard Arntz and his wife Kristeen; Frederick Dolbow and his wife Kristen; his Aunt Cynthia Gillis and her husband Ricky; Aunt Patricia Gilbert and her partner Lionel Bouffard; his nieces and nephews, Annegret, Nicholas, Rorianna, Roger, Stephen, Brady and Lucas; as well as his lifelong best friend Kayla Russo; cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his father, Frederick H. Liggetto Jr., lifelong friend, Kyle Tyburski and close family friend Pamela J. Russo.

Memorial Visitation will be Tuesday 4 to 5:30pm followed immediately by a Memorial Service.
