Stephen William Merrill 1954-2021
Stephen Merrill, 67, passed away on Monday December 6, 2021.
Stephen was born on April 26, 1954 in Lisbon Falls to Carleton L. and Elaine (Tibbetts) Merrill.
He grew up on Shiloh Rd in Durham, helping at his family’s wildlife animal park. He attended schools in Durham and Brunswick. He took pride in his carpentry work and rebuilt his home from the outside in. He enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. One of his favorite pastimes was going out on his boat and spending the day on the water with his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, teasing the little ones and taking the older boys hunting.
Stephen is survived by his wife of 23 years, Guylaine Merrill, their children Justin Merrill and his partner Jessica Lavoie, Nicole Flaherty and her husband Michael, and Daniel Bechard and his wife Ashley. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; Kaylee, Zach, Justin, Cody, Chase, Caleb, Sydney, Andrew, Lily, Patrick and Kellin. His mother Elaine Merrill, his brother Richard Merrill and his wife Betty Presnell, Peter Merrill and his wife Mabel, David Merrill and his wife Gerry Thompson, and Karen Herrick and her husband Martin. And several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Carleton Merrill, his brother Brian Merrill and his sister Kathryn Rundstrom.
