Stephen Morse Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Stephen Morse announce his passing on November 20, 2024 at the age of 63 from natural causes. He was the only child of Ernest and Carol Morse Jr.

Stephen was born in Portland and grew up in Gray and went to school graduating from Gray-New Gloucester High School. Steve was a very devoted and caring son and took wonderful care of his parents in their declining years. He was always there for them when needed.

He had many interests. Watching sports especially all the Boston Teams, but his greatest joy was playing golf. He even moved to South Carolina for a couple of years because they have a longer golfing season, however, he returned to Maine, his first love.

Steve was also a great cook and every year he would plant a small vegetable garden so he would always have fresh vegetables. Steve worked for Damon Insulation for 20 years, retiring in 2023. He was regarded there as one of the best workers they ever had.

After Steve's mother passed, he moved back to the family house in Gray where he reconnected with old friends Mindy Hawkes and Ralph and Wilma Gordan.

He is predeceased by his parents Carol and Ernest Morse Jr., Uncles Ronald Currier, Bobby Morse and Joey Morse. He leaves behind Aunts Patricia Currier, Mary Ann Currier and Phyllis Francoeur. Uncles Dennis Currier, Charles Morse, Dick Morse, James Morse, Andy Francoeur and many cousins.

He will be sadly missed by friends and family. A private service will be held in the Spring.
