Tammy was born on January 6, 1969, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine to Charles and Sandra Hotham of New Gloucester, where she was raised. Tammy went on to live in Gray, Auburn, Lewiston, and Augusta throughout her life.
Tammy graduated from Gray-New Gloucester High School. She later decided to further her studies and went on to receive her Assistant to Nurses Certificate from Southern Maine Technical College in 1997. She worked at Viking Nursing Home in Cape Elizabeth, dedicating herself to caring for others with compassion and kindness.
Tammy also had a lifelong love of animals, and over the years cared for many beloved pets, including several dogs, reptiles, and many chinchillas. Tammy had a deep interest and knowledge of animal biology and zoology, often surprising those around her with fun facts and insights.
A creative and talented crafter, Tammy especially loved beading and would spend countless hours creating intricate and beautiful designs. Crafting was a passion she shared with her mother, Sandra, and it became a special bond between them. Tammy was also a wonderful cook, known for her delicious meals and ability to bring people together around the table. Cooking for family and friends brought her great joy, and she was always eager to share her favorite recipes.
Tammy was known for her sharp wit, quick humor, and her remarkable resilience. Throughout her life, she faced many profound challenges, including the unimaginable loss of all three of her children. Yet, she carried these heartaches with strength and grace, never losing her sense of humor or her ability to bring a smile to those around her. Family and friends will remember her for her fierce love and her ability to find lightness even in the hardest of times.
She is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Sandra Hotham, and by her beloved children, Travis Michael Hotham, Joshua Alan Hotham, and Brittany Anne Morrill.
Tammy is survived by her five siblings: Donald Hotham and his wife Becky of Seattle, WA; Scott Hotham and his wife Dawn of Poland, ME; Michael Hotham and his wife Kristie of New Gloucester, ME; Charles Hotham III and his wife Crystal of Turner, ME; and Chris Hotham of Manchester, NH. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
Tammy’s greatest joy came from her family. She cherished her role as a daughter, mother, sister, and aunt, always making time to celebrate milestones, lending a listening ear, and sharing a funny joke.
