April 19, 2021 Charlotte NC Timothy Edward Hines passed away due to health complications related to Covid. He was born January 7, 1947 in Topsham Maine the youngest son to Orman Sr. and Dorothy Hackett Hines from Brunswick. The family lived on Maine Street and Tim was a graduate of the class of 1966 at Brunswick High School.
Tim was an avid fan of fishing, loved the numerous pets the family had, and playing with his brothers including jumping into snow drifts from the second floor windows. The family traveled a few summers to Pinehurst and Boca Raton as his father was a chef at golf resorts. Tim loved bingo and could be found traveling from fair to fair in the summer playing bingo.
Tim enlisted in the Navy and traveled to many locations including Long Beach, Taiwan, Indonesia and Antarctica which he loved to talk about. He always remained at ship as a part of the dental unit. After leaving the Navy he worked as a dental repairman and eventually opened Downeast Dental.
On June 1st 1991 he married Linda (Adler) formerly of Gray, at the Central Square Baptist Church in Portland. He also began his career with Patterson Companies. They moved to several locations and eventually moved to Minnesota where they both worked, Tim at the National Repair Center.
Their daughter Rebecca was born in March of 1992. The family enjoyed traveling on numerous cruises. Tim was a member of Meridian Lodge of Pittsfield.
The family moved from Minnesota in 2018 and relocated back to North Carolina.
Tim had some health challenges in recent years and he spent his mornings reading his bible verses. He and Linda played with multiple Lego sets. Tim loved feeding and talking to his golden babies, goldfish Missy and Bubba.
He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Rebecca, brothers Peter (Sheryl) of Bowdoinham, and Orman Jr. (Wendy) from Sebasco Estates, along with nephews Steven, Jim and Joe and their families.
Memorial burial will be held Monday 9a.m. June 7 at the Maine Veterans Cemetery - Civic Center Drive Location 143 Blue Star Avenue in Augusta with a visitation at the Sea Dog restaurant Topsham from 12 to 3.
