Tracy J Geer, 59, of New Gloucester, passed away unexpectedly on March 13, 2026 at home. Tracy was born on January 13, 1967 in Fitchburg, MA. He was predeceased by his mother, Margot Geer of Fitchburg. Tracy is survived by his wife of 18 years, Samantha, two sons Anthony Geer and Nicholas Geer, and daughter Violet Geer, his sister Diane Salvatore who he remained particularly close with, and brothers Alfred Geer and Michael Geer, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved.
Tracy was so very proud of his children and dearly loved watching them grow. Whether it was sporting events or band concerts he was often there supporting them through the years. He was in awe of Anthony’s intelligence and his ability to remember so many facts, whether about video games or history. He was so proud of Nick’s sports accomplishment and bragged to everyone about them, and then the pride continued as he entered the workforce. Finally, Violet was his little girl, and from the day she was born he cherished her. He loved seeing her grow as an incredible artist and beautiful young lady.
Tracy also really loved sports. Sunday was always for football and the Pats particularly, while the summer he was cheering on the Braves and Sox. He also loved a good Bruins game especially if there was a solid fight. The ESPN notification on his phone always got an enthusiastic “breaking news” reaction out of him said the same way every time. Tracy also loved shooting darts, which to him was the greatest sport of all.
Tracy spent many years working as a cook, where his passion for food truly shined. He loved being in the kitchen, especially when it came to smoking meats and preparing meals for others. Cooking was more than a job for him—it was one of the ways he showed love to the people around him. Later in life, he began a new chapter as a truck driver, a career he also deeply enjoyed. He loved that trucking brought him to many different places and people and most recently he cherished the relationships built working at Irving Oil.
Known for his boisterous personality and outgoing spirit, Tracy had a gift for connecting with people. He never met a stranger. He could strike up a conversation anywhere with anyone and made friends wherever he went. Whether we were at the grocery store or Fenway Park, he always found someone he knew and struck up a conversation.
Though he is gone too soon, Tracy’s spirit will live on in the family he loved so deeply, the friendships he made everywhere he went, and the many memories shared around food, sports, and laughter. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 11th from 12-3 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles 4131 in New Gloucester, ME. All friends and family are invited to celebrate and share memories of Tracy’s life.
